About This Work

Laying claim as the city's “first neighborhood", Pioneer Square is a richly historic place known for its Renaissance Revival architecture, First Thursday art walks, night life, delicious lunch spots, and quirky boutiques.  A vibrant Seattle hot spot required a robust informational website for tourists and travelers.  For 10 years I collaborated with Pioneer Square through two major website redesigns, countless feature additions, and a server migration.  I was the individual contributor for all phases (IA/UX/visual design/development) of the 2019 website redesign project featured below.

Key Contributions

  1. Individual contributor for the complete website redesign.
  2. Updated and refactored templates within content management system from 2015 build to reflect best practices.
  3. Designed and developed an intuitive custom content management system for easy content authoring and editing.
  4. Migrated to new server for improved security and performance.
  5. Created forms that submit as entries into the content management system (specifically for local events and business pages).

Design Evolution

2015: The original website redesign occurred.  I was the lead UX designer and developer on the project.  I contracted a senior visual designer to help.  I was the individual contributor for the entire redesign and development of the website again in 2019.
